Updates on the Blog and Its Direction

It has been about two weeks since my last Highlighted Community post.  I have been quite busy and I haven’t been able to crank out those posts as often as I would like but there will be more coming.   My plan is to have one highlighted community post a week or at worst once every 10 days-2 weeks.  I also plan to have a few posts like my El-Nino post or trip ideas to give you all some more content.

I feel like the Highlighted Community posts are not just about travel but also are there to provide educational opportunities for my readers.  There is more to a place than just a latitude/longitude point and what we deem as attractions.  Every community whether it is a town of under 100 people in the middle of nowhere or a large city has a story to tell and I would like to help tell that story.  I also like to add some Earth Science whenever possible and hopefully ask questions like, Why is the lay of the land that way? Why does location X have more rain and/or snow than location Z? and things of that nature.  I hope that these posts allow for readers to realize that there is more to a town or city than just places.

Post Plans (with projected dates) + or – a day or two

Most of the focus throughout the fall will be on my homestate, but we will occasionally step into adjacent states.

If your town is not on that list then I plan on posting more in 2019.

I look forward to delivering more highlighted communities, weather, geology, and perhaps just a few random posts over the next few months and years.
