Western Kentucky (Significant Event Update)

I did take a day off for posting. Tomorrow afternoon we will start counting the Top 25 Weather Events of Western KY. I may do one for Middle Tennessee in July (I haven’t decided yet if I am or not, but if I do, I do expect some overlap with the Western KY events)

So far we have covered several tornado outbreaks, winter storms, and even the effects of a hurricane.

Just to give you all a quick preview of the Top 25 events (here are the decades they span)

  • 1890s (2 Events)
  • 1910s (1 Event)
  • 1930s (2 Events)
  • 1950s (1 Event)
  • 1960s (2 Events)
  • 1970s (1 Event)
  • 1990s (3 Events)
  • 2000s (8 Events)
  • 2010s (3 Events)
  • 2020s (2 Events)

We will cover droughts/heat waves, floods, tornado outbreaks, hailstorms, and winter storms in our Top 25 significant weather events. It was hard to group and rank several of these because our area has been prone to some very significant weather.

Tomorrow afternoon our series continues. Thanks for people who have been staying tuned.
